Snow is my absolute favorite weather. When I was younger & going through a difficult winter, I spent an entire evening making over 100 unique paper snowflakes that I put all around my bedroom. I recently found out that snowflakes can be used as protection sigils from dark & negative energy. It’s funny to look back & realize that I have been intuitively practicing witchcraft my whole life without even realizing. I might even get a snowflake tattoo within the next month ❄️🥶

It’s snowing & I could not be more pleased. I was hoping so hard for the first snow during my birth month. Can’t wait to get some pictures of it all tomorrow morning.

I present my first functional art piece, an homage to human nature & my inner child. The pine needle lined teepee will eventually turn brown & I can’t wait to see how it ages.
•
Local kids had started the structure of the teepee months ago but had not been back for a long time. I remember when I was younger, there was someone who often left items in our handmade fairy houses & teepees. I wanted to keep that tradition alive for the new generation by being that mystical fairy who leaves behind bits of magic throughout the forests.

Took about 2 hours to clean up all the debris, dog poop, trash, & pine cones around the campsite & trail. I found a pvc pipe for a mailbox & a bottle for the chimney. The ‘fire’ pit is made out of loose stones found nearby. There used to be a large pile of debris here that was a perfect snake hiding spot, so I dispersed that throughout the forest. The landscaping is discarded Christmas trees, & they still smell great!

This week I have had a mass realization that my fear of rejection has been keeping me from creating to my fullest. I’ve been experiencing blockages in my writing that have kept me from materializing all the book/podcast ideas I have swimming around in my head. Last night, I started a poem and another chapter from a book, but was too critical of myself to finish them.
•
I fear that I cannot express my ideas fluidly on paper. I fear that the depth I desire will be lost between the lines. But most of all I fear that no one will like what my soul has to say, so I keep them all bottled up on a google docs page. Maybe one day I’ll have something for you all to see.
•
Right now, photographs are my most comfortable medium, yet I still struggle writing captions and coming up with content that I am confident in posting. This post in particular is my personal reminder that everyone has insecurities around their passions. Everyone feels not good enough from time to time. If all you can do right now is produce within your comfort zone to build some confidence, do that as much as you can until you are comfortable with branching out

The first mercury retrograde of 2020 is here. The collective energy feels sleepy & worn down but we will get out of this rut soon. Just as the animals have begun to stir & the seeds have begun to sprout, so will you in time.
•
It may feel easy to fall back into old patterns of thinking and behaving, but it’s important to remember that the retrograde does not actually move us backwards, it is just an illusion. Mistakes, bad luck, & unfortunate circumstances can be just the right lessons we need to keep us moving forward towards our life goals and purpose. During this time it is best to remain unattached to emotional matters. Instead of lashing out, remain dormant while you gather the facts & create a plan of action that helps you rather than hurts you. Now is the time to radiate peace, joy, & love while we wait for the Earth to wake.
•
Mercury Retrograde will be in the sign of Pisces from today, February 17th, until March 6th when it enters the sign of Aquarius. The retrograde will last from now until March 10th.

2018 Rivermont Ave.
The Queen Anne style home (1903) of Edwin Clark Ivey (1874-1949).
•
Edwin was a University educated farmer turned manufacturing businessman who shared a great passion for supporting the arts. Edwin & his family lived right next door to his parents, William Christopher Ivey & Emma Walton Moorman, who also owned a grand mansion that would eventually be passed down to Edwin. Both properties were unfortunately lost to the Ivey family in the 1930s when the Great Depression hit.

My mom & I found this 4-part locket hanging in a dusty corner of an antique store over the weekend. It might just be my new favorite everyday piece. A witchy must

2102 Rivermont Ave.
The Colonial Revival style home of William E. Graves built in 1901 by Aubrey Chesterman.
•
It is believed that William was a descendant of Thomas Graves who founded Graves Grain Mill (1774) in Wolftown, VA on a street that later becomes known as Graves Road.
The historic mill, though no longer operating, is still owned by a member of the Graves family today.

You never know what you’ll find when you wander the eerie & notoriously dangerous alleyways of the port city...especially in the dead of night. There are all sorts of nooks & crannies in the shadows of these narrow streets that criminals & spirits have resided in since the early 1700s. Back then, certain alleys were so dangerous even the police would not dare enter them. Downtown Wilmington has always been a mysterious world of its own. Are you brave enough to go see?
