"i-mong" here in Pundaquit means you go ahead and help the fishermen bring their boats and their catch to the shore. In return, they share with you some of their catch.

HEY GUYS! For my son Siddhartha's 2nd birthday, instead of a birthday party, Me and Balong are planning to do a feeding program and baby clothes donation instead. These will be given to the less fortunate kids here in our community. My son's birthday is on the 27th of this month but we most probably will do it at a later date due to some scheduling challenges. If you are interested to donate baby clothes, milk formula, or support this activity in any way you can, please let me know. ***This will be our first time to do this kind of thing so your inputs will also be very much appreciated. πŸ™‚

What you can donate/provide:
1. Preloved but still nice baby or kids clothes.
2. Infant formula
3. Cash (for the feeding program). Any amount will do. I will publish a list of those who gave cash donations for the sake of transparency. πŸ™‚
4. Banana leaves which we will use as plates during the feeding program. We want this activity to be disposable plastic free as much as possible.
5. Man power during the activity. We need people who can help distribute the donations and also manage the crowd
6. Someone from Manila (preferably with a pickup truck or knows someone who has one) who can help collate items donated from manila and bring it here in Pundaquit

Our target date for this activity is on November 9, 2019. Here is the event page for more updates.

Pro tip: Use your hands and your chin when bringing your freshly harvested passion fruit from your Lola's backyard to your house. Waaaay better than using a single use plastic bag. Hehehe. #refusereducereuserecycle #freshfruits #ruralLiving #SurferVille19 days agoDownload

Today, somebody asked me why I ask my guests to segregate their non bio and biodegradable trash during their stay here at #TheMalongHouse. The person thinks it is too much for me to ask my guests to do so. As an owner of a homestay, I take it as my responsibility to educate my guests to segregate their bio and non biodegradable trash. I think it is a disservice to my guests to just let them walk away without being educated about trash segregation. Ofcourse, I tell my guests nicely to segregate their trash. This is the ONLY way I know to make my home and my business sustainable for me, my family, and for all the people who would like to experience the good vibes and beautiful scenery of our place. I WILL NOT ALLOW IRRESPONSIBLE PEOPLE TO DROWN MY PLACE IN DISPOSABLE PLASTICS. If people do not appreciate my efforts, then I guess it is lost business. But I would rather lose a few peso than lose the beauty of Surfer Ville. This is our home. To all the people who stayed here in our place and are genuinely concerned and did not mind helping out in our efforts in trash segregation. YOU GUYS ROCK! YOU DESERVE TO RELAX AND ENJOY A PLACE THAT IS CLEAN AND GREEN. I hope to see you all again soon and share the good vibes here at Surfer Ville. πŸ™‚πŸŒŠβ€πŸŒ§πŸŒΏπŸ„β€β™‚οΈπŸ2 months agoDownload
