This was MY response when I was invited to my first bootcamp. I remember it so vividly because I knew deep down in my soul I was trying to find an excuse...any excuse to avoid the unknown of a bootcamp and failing at yet another goal. .

I had tried every wrap, coffee, cleanse, shake, diet, pill,  #quickfix for losing the weight I gained in #college and with #pregnancy 
You name it...I tried it! .
.
I’m not ashamed because all those products I tried taught me there isn’t a quick fix for leading a healthy lifestyle. There isn’t a diet or product you can use that will magically make you healthy in two weeks. .
.
It takes consistency. It takes dedication. It takes a positive mindset. It takes community. It takes accountability....and dang it, it takes you to throw your excuses out the window.

Truth me told, we didn’t have the money at the time. We were living on one income because I took the year off to be a new mommy and finish my third college degree....but I was tired. I was tired of my excuses and MADE it work because I finally decided it was important enough to me. .
.
If it’s important enough to you, you will find a way. If not, you’ll find an excuse. .
.
I often imagine where I would be if I allowed my excuses to continuously hold me back. “I have too much on my plate and we can’t afford it” was complete BS. I was afraid I wouldn’t stick to it. I was afraid of what a bootcamp would be like and if it would really help to hold me accountable. Stop settling!! .

What’s more common for you ...? I’m a firm believer in keeping your word. 
Yet I usually don’t with myself. (Ironic, I know.) 🤦🏼‍♀️ So I’ve really been doing some reflecting lately and have found I’m (thankfully) not the only one! 😬🙋🏼‍♀️ It’s actually more common for us to go out of our way and the extra mile for others, but throw in the towel so much faster if it’s inconvenient or we’re simply tired when it comes to ourselves. 
It seems so silly. And backwards, honestly.

•Reliability

To others, but especially myself. 
I want to know without a doubt that when I give my word, I mean it. 
Whether an RSVP attendance or a habit. 
I’m scared to death, honestly, because I’ve always let myself off the hook for X, Y, or Z reason ... which is why I’m not just sharing this one, but inviting you along.

And I'm walking all funny because of it! 🤦‍♀️🤣 And let me tell you about the calorie burn. 470! I mean, take it with a grain of salt. These fitness trackers aren't 100% accurate, but I didn't think this workout would burn as much as it did! Holy moly!🙃 Thanks Sara! That was AMAZING!

That’s normal- but the most important thing to do is to develop practices that foster emotional wellness. This can be done a number of ways- one of my favorite ways to do this is gratitude journaling

This is still considered a newer topic in the research world- but from the research done thus far- they have found that people have reported an increase in their happiness, increase in positive thoughts, and improvement in their relationships by spending 5-10 min a day WRITING down 3-5 things they’re grateful for a whole month (or more)! This time it was all about me finishing what I started. Y'all know I've been struggling really hard the past few months. That hasn't changed. I could have quit this program so many times because I knew I wasn't going to see the changes I wanted to see. I could have just given up and done something else.

It was more important for me to keep pushing play every day though. The last time I lost this amount of weight my mind was a mess. I was depressed, so obsessive and was constantly sad and hungry. My body was always breaking down because of the amount of workouts I was doing just to maintain and I was always in pain or injured. Due to medications and some emotional life changes I couldn’t keep up with my disordered “healthy eating”, which then lead to other disordered eating. Eating only one meal a day and living on soda and never exercising. Finally I’ve worked on loving myself no matter what size. I’ve lived in them all and once I knew I was amazing no matter what, then I was finally able to make a permanent change. It’s a new start and a new way of thinking about food but I’m happy and healthy and embracing my new life. I do 30 minute work outs. I can do them ANYWHERE!

I didn’t have time. I was scrolling my phone for 30 minutes a day.

I didn’t like to work out. Working out is fun, if you find what works for you.

I didn’t want to diet. I DON’T diet. I use portion control but I don’t restrict ANYTHING.

But, I found out that none of these excuses really, truly applied when I decided to make myself a priority and commit to a lifestyle change rather than just complaining about the state I was in.

What if I told you we aren't all that different?

No, I don't have kids (yet). No, I don't work night shift or weekends.

No, I'm not in school full or part-time right now.

But I do have 24 hours every day - just like you.

I work full-time as a Financial Analyst, and part-time as a Fitness & Nutrition coach, as well as working with 1st Phorm as Legionnaire (so kind of like three jobs...). I have a dog to take care of, and a fiance that I'm marrying next month (oh btw, I'm planning a wedding, too). And I'm always doing continuing education, having just finished up my NASM Performance Enhancement Cert, and after the wedding, starting my Precision Nutrition Level-1 Cert.

You may be a stay at home mom of one, two, three, or more kids.

Maybe you are the manager of a restaurant and have crazy hours.

But we still have the same 24 hours.

It's how we CHOOSE to spend those 24 hours that matters.

Prioritize, plan, and then execute.  No matter what your life looks like, these three things will always get you to your goals.

If it's important to you, you'll MAKE the time for it in your own 24 hours.

Julie is always training for something, has received monthly massages from me for a few years, and during her training for the recent Chicago Marathon, she decided to add in SportStretch sessions with me.  Though she did have to share the mat with Darcy (our black cat) for a few minutes, she was so much better prepared for this Marathon than previous ones. Keep yourself accountable and take advantage of your available #fitfam. You can schedule an activity with your family (I went hiking with my fiancé and fur baby yesterday), book a workout class with friends, or have sessions lined up with a fun personal trainer 👋

Once you have a plan going with other people, it’s WAY more difficult to back out of a workout, but you’re going to feel SO good about yourself once you follow through with them!!!

My mentality towards working out has completely changed compared to how I was a couple years ago. I used to make excuses for going to the gym about the smallest things that bothered me for example what I was wearing. That would literally keep me from going to the gym. I'm definitely in a better place now and I'm so happy I found love for a healthier lifestyle.

Thank you very much !  For content, I continue to gather my equipments and if I broadcast less videos in recent days, it's because I have difficulty with instagram that does not let me broadcast my publications. 
What matters to me is the results my clients get and not just put pictures and not deliver good results. 
Quality vs quantity. Thank you very much and glad you appreciate !

For those who know me, I'm far from being the one who shows up everywhere and yet I've helped people perform internationally.  They tell me sometimes, what are you doing Waldo.  I answer them,  I do what I have to do and for who is looking for me. 
The differences are often in the investments.  The magic pills and drinks do not equate the real time to bring out real results.  Moreover, we must not put pressure when we have objectives and rather give ourselves pleasure to continue. 
As an expert in the field, I spent years in laboratories and doing research to help people who have pathologies.  I have a mission that I continue to do and glad that I was able to save lives to people who have heart problems.  Again, the many years to analyze the updates of scientific articles and to attend conferences. 
I do it because it is a vocation to want to save lives. 
For my people, thanks again for the words.  Just a thank you makes me my day. 
You know it and I always say it, there is always room to improve, to be better and I will always encourage you to bring out the best of you. 
That's one of the reasons why I always win in what I'm doing.  We observe, we learn and we do well what we do.  That's my philosophy.
